Mayor Galeano urges all ratepayers to pay their rates and charges by 14 October to take advantage of the generous 15% discount available on current rate notices. He said all rate notices were posted yesterday (14 September).

The Mayor also highlighted a change in Council’s rating policies and said there is now a 30 day discount period, not a 60 day one. However, more importantly the Council has extended the options available to ratepayers to pay rates. An arrangement with Australia Post will now enable ratepayers Australia-wide to pay at the Post Office or via the Post Billpay website www.postbillpay.com.au. The Mayor also advised that Council had moved in line with most Local Governments and now accepts payment by credit card through the EFTPOS, BPAY or Post Billpay systems.

“I know many ratepayers who will find the new payment options far more convenient,” said Mayor Galeano.
